We were excited to attend the TAPS Awards Ceremony yesterday evening!  The Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors is an organization dedicated to providing immediate and long-term emotional help, hope, and healing to all who are grieving the death of a loved one in military service to America.

That is perhaps the most noble goal we can think of.

Yellow Ribbons United shares a desire to make life easier for our veterans.  In this spirit we attended the first TAPS award ceremony.  According to TAPS:

During the evening program, TAPS will present the first ever TAPS Lifetime Service Award to the Honorable Hillary Rodham Clinton and the TAPS Corporate Engagement Award to Prudential Financial.

Recipients of the Lifetime Service Award and the Corporate Engagement Award are selected based on their recognition that while financial support is important, broadening awareness, encouraging support by others and providing philanthropy leadership in the community are critical to sustaining and building the programs such as those TAPS provides to the loved ones of members of the Armed Forces who died while serving our country.  Read full text here.

The Lifetime Service Award recipient will be Hillary Clinton.  It is such an honor for us to attend this event and help recognize the wonderful work Mrs. Clinton has done with regards to helping our veterans.  The Corporate Engagement Award recipient will be Prudential Financial.  It is so refreshing to see corporate america step up and help with such a worthy cause.

It was a great evening of camaraderie as we helped recognize the TAPS award winners.
